Are you wanting to get out of the house? Tampa is a vibrant city with a lot to offer visitors and residents alike. We came up with our top list of some of the places you can go when looking for something to do in Tampa:

  1. Visit the Busch Gardens: This theme park is one of the most popular attractions in Tampa, and it's a great place to spend the day with family and friends. You can ride roller coasters, see exotic animals, and enjoy live entertainment. At certain times of the year, they may have special events such as Halloween as an example.
  2. Check out the Tampa Riverwalk: This scenic walkway along the Hillsborough River is a great place to take a stroll and enjoy the waterfront views. There are several parks, museums, and restaurants along the way. It was recently named the 2nd best Riverwalk in the Nation.
  3. Explore Ybor City: This historic neighborhood is known for its cigar-making heritage and Latin culture. You can visit the Ybor City Museum State Park, shop for cigars and souvenirs, and enjoy authentic Cuban cuisine. Stay after hours and entertain yourself at one of the many bars, or nightclubs. Ybor is kind of like Tampa's version of Bourbon Street.
  4. Visit the Florida Aquarium: This aquarium is home to over 14,000 animals and plants from Florida and around the world. You can see sharks, sea turtles and even touch stingrays. There is an outdoor playground for kids as well.
  5. Take a trip to the Tampa Bay History Center: This museum offers exhibits on the history of Tampa and Florida, including displays on the Seminole Wars, cigar-making, and the pirate invasion of Tampa Bay. Down below, you can have a meal at one of the Columbia's many locations.
  6. Catch a game or a music event at Raymond James Stadium: If you're a sports fan, you can catch a Tampa Bay Buccaneers football game or a USF Bulls college football game at this iconic stadium.
  7. Enjoy a day at the beach: Tampa is close to several beautiful beaches, including Clearwater Beach, Indian Rocks Beach, Madeira Beach, Treasure Island, and St. Pete Beach. You can swim, sunbathe, fish, or try water sports like kayaking and paddleboarding.
  8. Visit the Lowry Park Zoo: This zoo has over 1,300 animals, including elephants, tigers, and rhinos. You can take a guided tour, see animal shows, and even feed some of the animals.
  9. Go on a dolphin-watching tour: Tampa Bay is home to many dolphins, and you can take a boat tour to see them up close. You can find tour locations in Downtown Tampa, Downtown St Petersburg, and out by the Beaches.
  10. Explore the Tampa Museum of Art: This museum features a collection of modern and contemporary art, including works by local artists. There are also rotating exhibits and special events throughout the year.
