This style of home came from the British in the 1900th century as they colonized India and became popular in the United States of America in the late 1800s and early 1900s. As many South Tampa neighborhoods grew in the early 1900s, this architectural style became more popular. Assuredly, some bungalow homes didn't make it to the current era, many have survived, and even some are protected with historic designations, so they legally cannot be torn down. They are unmistakable for their 1-1.5 story design, usually featuring covered porches that sometimes wrap around the home's exterior, low-pitched or sloping roof, and small footprint compared to newer built homes.
