While the city of Tampa is doing its best to fill in the gaps by making homebuilders complete sidewalks when constructing a new home, some neighborhoods in South Tampa still lack fully completed sidewalks.
Looking for a South Tampa neighborhood with sidewalks? Here are your options:
Davis Islands
Davis Islands is very pedestrian friendly. It is relatively easy to walk, bike, or ride your golf cart around the islands, which is part of the draw of living on Davis Islands. We highly recommend bringing your furry friends with your to either the wet or dry dog parks on the island.
Hyde Park
One of Tampa's oldest neighborhoods is also highly walkable. Its proximity to Hyde Park Village and Bayshore Boulevard make your morning or evening walking a joy. Plus, if you are an architectural junkie like us, you can appreciate the historic homes of Hyde Park along the way.
New Suburb Beautiful · Parkland Estates
These two neighborhoods are next to each other and similar. Both are centrally located and within walking distance of Palma Ciea, Bayshore Boulevard, and SoHo. With different architectural styles and several parks to stop along the way, creating an incredibly peaceful environment.
Golf View
Located next to Palma Ceia Country Club, one can take a stroll and enjoy the large estate homes of Golf View. You may even catch a glimpse of some of Tampa's wealthiest and most famous residents.
